Hi all , hoping someone may be able to help with some advice . My lab has been diagnosed with significant arthritis in multiple joints she’s on a cocktail of different things to help but would like some ideas about bedtime if possible . She sleeps upstairs with us and always has and we wouldn’t want to change that for her as it’ll induce stress she’s a sensitive soul , we just want to get her up and down stairs as painlessly as possible . Does anyone have any ideas about slings or something similar or has anyone devised their own way of getting them up and down . She’s only 7 and it’s gutting that she’s in so much pain , just diagnosed after investigations last week we’ve had to take her back to the Vet tonight as she’s been limping terribly they’ve now started her on Librella and she’s had a painkilling injection. Any help and advice would be gratefully received .
    Many thanks

    Hi,

my lab has been diagnosed with athritis aged two. Heart breaking and I buried my head in the sand for a while.

i found canine athritis management (website) run by the vet Hannah Capon extremely useful. There is advise on slings/ equipment and basically everything you need to know to manage the disease on their website. It's invaluable, science based and it made me optimistic for being able to look after my Lab.

My lab had the injection librella on Monday, last as well. Brilliant science behind it.

keep learning about the disease and keep optimistic. It's just a change of direction.

best of luck with your lab. Keep in touch. Would love to hear how you get on.

Yes! I am becoming an avid CAM follower.

i listened back to some of their Facebook lives and I think I am on the right track now spending my money more wisely than before on the cod liver oil, the glucosamine/ chondrites, good kibble and the monthly injection (which may be covered by pet insurance). Losing the weight is a constant battle and the hardest part.

I find the information truely invaluable.
