Does the Lab that came 2nd in the Gundog class at Crufts looks overweight?

    I didn’t watch Crufts so I don’t know if there were any working/field labs in the category. This is a show lab and they are a different shape. In America they refer to these as English labs as opposed to the more athletic working dogs being American labs.
    The majority of labs I see in the UK are working and have a much less square face and leaner body.
    Someone else will know the technical differences.

    I am a total amateur, but to me working and show labs are so different, they could almost be different breeds. My working lab looks nothing like this. Dog shows typically, in the UK, are full of show type. You are more likely to find the working type in agility, flyball etc....
