    Hi All,
Our beautiful 1 year old Daisy had surgery to treat elbow dysplasia two weeks ago. She had a ulna osteotomy also. Can anyone share their dogs post operative stories? The 8 week confinement is very hard - especially with such an energetic dog. Daisy also has a much worse limp than before the surgery which I’m hoping will improve in the coming weeks. We are worried she might be doing too much. Any thoughts/experiences would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

How’s Daisy recovered from her surgery? My girl is 4 weeks post op from right elbow arthroscopy to remove loose bone fragments. She was diagnosed with ED a few years ago and this is the second time she has undergone this surgery in 2.5 years (repeat surgery was required as she fractured more bone in her elbow). It’s been a rough few weeks but she seemed to be slowly improving until last night when she slipped coming back inside from the toilet. Immediately we noticed she was limping worse and clearly in discomfort. I restarted her on anti inflammatories asap and contacted her surgeon who advised I’d done the right thing and to try and keep her well rested before visiting him in two weeks for her 6 week check up. I was hoping for a miracle overnight but she remains the same today. Very lame and bobbing her head with each step. I’m so upset for her and really worried she may have done some serious damage as she’s very much like she was post op. I’m praying for some improvement soon.

Best wishes to you and Daisy.
