Living on a farm means once in a while a little mouse will get inside. That's why we've always had two cats on the farm and why I reluctantly put up with them using my garden as a giant litter tray. A few years a go we had no cats. The last one was squashed by a tractor! That winter I caught 12 mice in my car and 6 in the house, mainly due to the plumber when we converted the barn not blocking off where the pipes went out. Since then there have been 2 traps set in my kitchen. One behind the bin in the corner where the dogs can't get and one under the kitchen cupboard behind the kick board. Last Thursday I let the dogs into the kitchen. Scott immediately ran over to the bin and started sniffing around it. I went to look why. Mouse in trap behind bin!!!!! Yesterday dogs went in for a drink scott started sniffing along the kick board with the trap behind. Yep another mouse!!!!!! I don't suppose this skill appears in the graded gun dogs tests does it ? If he could've got to it it would've been an impressive blind retrieve. Not that I'd have been too keen on him fetching me that back!!! :

Re: Scott the mouser ! And then can you send Scott here? We occasionally have a little mousey problem too....
Re: Scott the mouser ! Scott is quite happy to come and sort out anyone's little rodent problem as long as scout can come for back up.
