Hi all, newbie to the forum and also Lab ownership. We had two pugs previously and these were our first experience of dog ownership because of our lifestyle. Sadly we lost them early during their lives and within 6 weeks of each other. I honestly thought I would be too old for another dog, but a chance meeting with a 5 month old Lab and it's owner(s) caused the removal of one of two obstacles we had in our minds, after the loss of the pugs, that were deterring us from going back into the world of dog ownership. The second obstacle was removed when a new independent vet practise opened up near to where we live. Then the stars all fell in alignment and Oi! became a family member. We had never considered a lab. Now he's at approximately 8 months in age and having completed three sets of puppy training classes, here we are! He's the best thing that's happened to me since loosing the pugs. Yep a big difference in dog breeds but once again, loving life. I thought I'd join the forum to try and get some honest, polite interaction between fellow lab owners which may make his life with us better.

    Hi Mike,

Welcome to the forum! I'm glad you're enjoying a new lease of life with you Labrador :)

I've replied to your email to our enquiries inbox, but deleted your post asking the same question here (just to keep that conversation in one place and tidy!)

    Best wishes,

    Sarah
