Re: I can't take much more of this Our 'Christmas tree' now comprises a large glass jar filled with coloured lights. That was after 2 years of our lab chewing on the decorations - after all you never know what might turn out to be edible. As for our kitchen, well it's never looked so minimalist - or clean, since she discovered she could clamber onto the island and help herself to whatever we had optimistically left there. One of those clambers turned into a several hundred dollar overnight visit to the vet when she managed to get herself a large bag of raisins. Our kitchen is now a fortress to labradors. Everything behind closed doors, and within containers. Give her time though.....

Re: I can't take much more of this The Christmas before last Charlie ate a large box of Thorntons, there were no adverse affects, he then went on to eat 300 pounds worth of doggy heart medication for my mums dogs. He spent the night in the vets, cost us a fortune and had no adverse affects, we think he thought he was staying in a spa! Last Christmas he unwrapped 2 presents that contained chocolate, opened the door to our utility room and ate another box of Thorntons and a large box of After 8 mints. We had only gone out for half an hour and decided to let him out of his crate Again there was no upset belly or anything, but now he stays in his crate if we leave the house, he even goes in the crate if we are outside doing stuff we don't need his help with even if it's for just 5 minutes

Must say I do like that lights in a jar idea... As to Charlie's behaviour... I reckon he'll be working out what he has to do next to earn himself another spa break! Sorry, Paul, shouldn't laugh. But of course I did. Clare
Re: I can't take much more of this no temptations in my house, not putting a tree up to get stressed, so i have decided to just decorate the out side, front and side view sorry only joking its not mine, its in my street heheh
Re: I can't take much more of this Wow!!! That's some serious decorating 8) I really must try harder ;D we've got a tree and some garlandy things plus some shiny paper chains (haven't made paper chains for decades!). Plus a bit of greenery strewn around. No outside lights though, next year!
Re: I can't take much more of this In Canberra where I live there is a house that holds the world record for the number of bulbs on a house. We haven't been to see it though. You have to pay to see it and they donate the money to a charity. That house looks good, Lynne! Christmassy, but not over the top.
Re: I can't take much more of this they have a collection box out side if any one likes to donate,.....we have took jasper up there whilst out on are walks, of course we have to take logan when he comes to stay my street is very busy at this time of year with all the visitors to the house ;D ;D
Re: I can't take much more of this Wow! That's quite the decorations!! I have a few other things up besides the Christmas tree. I was a little worried about my Christmas village, but aside from one obvious Labrador intrusion episode, things have stayed intact: Christmas village by psalmone1, on Flickr I also have a little collection of Nativity sets which are on the mantelpiece and safe from the four-legged one. Re: I can't take much more of this Me too - Charlie would be dragging those socks down... ;D ;D ;D Lovely though, Lisa - looks cosy.
Re: I can't take much more of this Well our house looks like a mecca for Grinches compared to yours. Lovely snow village scene!!!!
Re: I can't take much more of this
Ah Lisa, your house looks so cosy and Chritmassy, lovely x How in this world has he left the stockings alone though?
Try wearing them for a day, Lisa, then hanging them back up. Right now those poor stockings are probably feeling unloved and hard done by, as the only footwear in the history of the world not to have aroused the interest of a Labrador... I don't like to think of those poor stockings feeling neglected Or maybe it's because Christmas stockings don't come in pairs??? There isn't the same sense of satisfaction in running away with one if in so doing you won't separate it forever from it's life partner??! ??? Clare
