Re: Great News about Charlie - yes Charlie!! Good morning everyone, I just wanted to share our good news. This morning at 0600 (sorry to say I just haven't been able to face the drag strip for the last couple of days!!) my husband David walked Charlie & Hattie for their usual one hour ish countryside walk. We talked about not letting Charlie pull not even once and by doing this David returned triumphant, Charlie walked beautifully on his lead and only pulled once for a sniff down a rabbit hole - Perfection takes time!! Pippa's articles make so much sense and made us stop and think, as painful as it is to admit, that we have not been showing Charlie how to behave properly and as a rescue dog he probably never been shown how to be a good boy, but today he proved he can be. Hattie was our first dog and luckily as complete novices she has been very easy to train. Exercise 3 of total recall starts today, and he can even sense when a training session is about to begin! Feeling very proud today - one small step for Charlie and long may it continue. Thanks Helen & Charlie xx
Re: Lead Walking non existent WONDERFUL news!!!!!! I am sure you will have ups and downs, but if he can do it once he can do it again!!!!
Re: Lead Walking non existent Fantastic news, well done you. There's nothing quite like that light bulb moment when dogs says, "Oh, so that's what you want me to do!" I've only seen it a couple of times but it's priceless.
