Re: Water!
Love the photos. Gorgeous girl. Think I must have odd lab cos Meg hates water. She will walk around puddles rather than walk through them. She tolerates hydrotherapy but anything else no way. Even when we've been to the seaside in past years she would run up to the waves bark at them and then ran away and go back and do it all again.! Entertained people on the beach though. You can buy lifejackets for dogs, but I think they're expensive.
Riley walks round puddles too but show him a pond or a lake and he's beside himself with excitement he took a while to gain confidence though!
Re: Water! Same here. Harley walks around puddles when on lead, but will happily splash and run in puddles (especially muddy ones!)
Re: Water! These are cute and not too expensive http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Dog-Life-Jacket-Swimming-Float-Vest-Buoyancy-Aid-Pet-XS-XL-/130981342188?pt=UK_Home_Garden_Kitchen_Steamers_Cookers_PP&var=&hash=item1e7f18abec This is Lilly when she started hydrotherapy The outward Hound vests are very good for serious situations - like boating holidays. http://www.malamutematters.org/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=17&products_id=68 Not sure who else may sell these cheaper. They aren't really so expensive if you are going to use them regularly.
Re: Water! Oh i love the first one, it comes in PINK, that will so suit puzzle, or maybe i should get barley a pink one as everyone calls him a a girl , i am sure pink will suit him
Re: Water!
If you get some of that cheap (often light blue) 3-ply plastic rope/string that floats well. You can get more expensive braided versions too. Be careful though as it can be a bit vicious on your hands.
Thanks for that, dad dug some out of the shed, we checked to vmake sure it flotas and it does ;D. It might get used on sunday if the wather is nice so she can have a good swim instead and tire herself out instead of a long muddy walk, swimming would be less messy with all the rain we have had over the past few days, well most walks would involve swimming as there are lots of places flooded and fast current, we will chose a safer option and find a lake, or pond
Re: Water! If you go for a pond, make sure that its the sort that Puzzle can get out of. We have a man made one near me with walled sides and Chip jumped in off the side during the summer. He then couldn't get out - thankfully he wears a harness so I could get onto my stomach haul him up and over me - no easy trick with a large soaking wet dog! So a pond with graduated sides is certainly the way to go! But once they get the hang of it it does them wonders
