You are all going to be cursing me,it's not like I've got too much time on my hands...I've just noticed this in Dexters mouth.....

On both sides of his jaw his lower canines are making a dent in his upper jaw, they seem to fit so snugly and that dent has become black?do you think normal?
I clean his teeth everyday but I dont actually prise his jaws open when I do this so I've never noticed before...
I'm getting a life this afternoon,I promise,I know many of you have got much more serious things to be thinking about and dealing with but any opinions very, very gratefully received :*

I have just looked at both my Lab's teeth in the same place, both have black gums so difficult to compare completely, however, both do have an indentation in the same place but perhaps not quite as deep. It is probably nothing to worry about but to put your mind at rest why not have a word with your vet.

Charlie has 2 black dents - a little further back than Dex. I had the vet check them, she said they were just pigmentation marks on pressure points. I had them checked again when he was under GA for his x-rays, and the answer was the same. I think it's odd though.

If it's what choc Charlie has then I wouldn't worry. Must say that it's a new one for me!

I really just wanted to comment on the magnificent condition of Dexter's teeth and gums. Absolutely sterling.

Sorry,I forgot to pop back on to Thankyou for all your compliments re Dexters gnashers ;D.
I'm glad I've stuck with it,it's really easy now ...maybe he would have always have had decent oral health genetically but as we'll never know I like to think it's my cleaning skills!! ;D
I'll ask the vet when we go on for injections in a couple of weeks,I'm confident it's pigmentation though ,thanks x
