I know a dog barking isn't normally news - but it is when Charlie barks.

We've just had two BIG woofs. On our last trot round the block before bed, there were lots of foxes in the playground. Very exciting. Then they legged it over the road into a garden, and the dogs who own the garden started barking. Next, all the dogs in the street were up and barking! It was like something out of 101 dalmatians. Charlie was all bristly, and prancing, and then - WOOF! Just one. He decided we had to head for home sharpish after that, but just as we turned the corner into safety, he turned round and another big WOOF! Just to see them off properly.

Ah, he has such a lovely woof. We're averaging one a month now. :)

How exciting! DexiD4DivaDog has only barked 9 times in the year and a bit she's been with us but like your Charlie they are a single deep and meaningful woof ... I feel so proud of her for having the confidence to do it too

He is that - I have to say, it doesn't seem to get him down at all (unlike me). He is absolutely his normal, bouncy, over enthusiastic self. Perhaps a tad more timid when out and about (but since I think he is right off the over confident scale anyway, I think we've a safety buffer there). The vet (the one in favour of pain killers) says he will be in pain. But you really, really wouldn't know it.

He clearly gets frustrated at the constant "walk nicely on your lead" thing. And sometimes comes home and has to be stopped from running tiny little laps of the kitchen just in order to run :( but it doesn't seem to have dampened his spirits really. Thankfully. Long may that last.

Oh bless the boy , so pleased to read that his enthusiasm is still the same , even if he cant carry it through , it bodes well :) The bark made me smile , Sam has probably barked about 6 times in two and a half years ;)
