Lump on foot

    Did you find out what caused it? Thorns are the most likely culprits, I think, especially during hedgecutting season. Although it's odd that it's on the top of the paw.

    Yes David, apparently it's an infected sebaceous gland. Dont know what made it infected though - it turned up one morning out of the blue, red and swollen and weeping, looking like a huge boil. Thank goodness it seems to be healing up at last, a month later!

    I think dogs can be as much of a worry as children.

    We think Juno's may have been caused by her pulling at a wooden gate which irritated the fur (rubbed some of it off I think) and thus the gland, initially I thought it might have been a splinter.
