This afternoon , we had a lovely visit from friends who are staying near to us on holiday with their six dogs, one of which is a sweet chocolate Lab puppy called Poppy , she is 15 weeks old . Apart from it being lovely to see them , it was also a bit of a tester to see how Sam would react to a Lab puppy , what a star he was , shared his toys and his bed , cuddling up together after play . We had both wondered how it would go, but we neednt have had any doubts , it was just lovely . I also told Sarah about this forum and also about your book Pippa which she is going to get , Poppy is going to become an assistance dog for their son who suffers from autism , they have lots of help and support from Dogs for the Disabled .
Re: Trial run today Kate, how amazing and well done Sam . Also well done to Poppy, she will provide invaluable pleasure, friendship and help to an autistic child. That made me cry but in a happy way. One of my sons has high functioning autism and I know how much he loves our dogs. Also great work from Dogs for the Disabled. Wonderful that's made my day Helen x
Re: Trial run today Thanks Kate Sounds as though your lovely Sam will really enjoy a new friend next year! Pippa
Re: Trial run today Super news, well done Sam for being such a kind boy. And good luck to little Poppy!
