Be very wary Jade , the bleeding does reduce or even seem to stop , this is the fertile time of the cycle so please take care , it will soon be over :)

She has been howling when she hears other dogs barking. Is this her calling sigh? Never heard her howl before!

Oh yes Jade , people often think that its just male dogs who are desperate to mate , wrong ;)
In my experience, bitches often turn into complete brazen hussies who will " offer themselves " to any dog available :)

Hiya, how can I tell when she has finished? Will be 3 weeks on Sunday. Do you think it would be ok to walk her on lead now?

I will build her up slowly onto longer walks. (Half term next week so kids with me anyway!)

    Thank you for your help.

Hi Jade , I would think that you will be ok to walk Amy on lead next week, but still take care . The trouble is that they differ , some have a 21 day season, but others ( like Millie ) have a 26/28 day one .

I think you should be ok. Male dogs will still be interested, but if she is past the danger point she won't let them near her. Keep her on the lead though to be safe.

I gave her a good wash down in the paddling pool and took her out for a few minutes. I was armed with the clicker and roast chicken. She tried to pull a bit but soon got the idea once I waved the chicken under her nose. Pleased with her " loose lead" a after not been out for so long. The weather isn't great so wouldn't be going far even if we could!
