We'll the day has finally arrived and Bailey has had his first walk, the last 5 weeks have been eventful, sitting on the carpet playing with him, early morning visits to the garden, bouts of diahoarrea and tripping over him as he followed you all over the house. Now it's the new challenge of walking as he stubbornly sits, chews and tangles himself on the lead and cries to get back home, but it won't take long until he realises how enjoyable walking and chasing balls will be, once we're happy with the walking then it will be the car training which will allow us to take him further afield....any advice on that would be appreciated.

How exciting to move onto the next step and, as you say, he'll soon start to enjoy it :)

    That sounds wonderful ;D

You might be doing this already but I wouldn't wait for longer walks to get him used to the car, even if you just put him in and take him out, turn the engine on for a short period or drive to the postbox.

It took Riley a while to learn to relax in the car but now he knows it means fun and he can't wait to get in :D

I just popped them straight in the back of the car (boot) and drove off as if this was nothing out of the ordinary! Apart from one who was initially car sick, seven took to it like ducks to water.

No car travel issues with us at all.
