I cannot find a specific place for this so hope it'll get read by the right people. We are hoping to take a years break in Bali, I believe designated as a rabies free non-eu country, and am finding it very difficult to get all the facts together as to whether it is practical with Mella. I have emails and written to several Indonesian government departments with little success, likewise several government departments here in the UK. Our main concern is whether she would have to go into quarantine on return to the UK in a years time. If that proves to be the case, then we won't go, simple! So, has anybody got experience of this please and can offer some advice? Thanks
Re: Export - Import of pet. This: https://www.gov.uk/take-pet-abroad suggests that if you have your dog vaccinated and blood tested here before you travel you don't need to quarantine. Edited to say: But I have no personal experience! There has been discussion on pet passports and micro-chipping in other threads so someone else may well know more. Frankly if you're going to spend a year in Bali I may not speak to you any more anyway!
Re: Export - Import of pet. We imported Dexter to Dubai and as long as his pet passport ( ie injections) are up to date he will not need to be quarantined if we needed to take him back to the UK.i know of 2 families here that take their dogs back to the UK for July and August every year....one is a little jack russell and the other is a golden retriever .....blummin heck,Bali Baby!
