We met the postie with his trolley of letters. We meet him about 3 times a week on our lunchtime walk.

Charlie sat down and didn't move while I greeted the post man and had a short conversation about the weather (of course), and then walked passed without jumping on him, or in his trolley.

I don't know who was more surprised - me or the postie!

Do you think Charlie is ill? I can't really take him to the vet and say that I think my dog is sick because he behaved himself! ::) ;D

Maybe he is just maturing, and all your training and hard work has payed off and he is finally learning how to be a good boy ;D

Well done charlie, you can be a good boy :)

Don't worry, it'll be a one off...it's only 2 weeks since he stood on Angela's head!

I'm just disappointed that you didn't get a photo of that.

I suspect that your training is working :)

I'm pleased he has stopped mugging the postie so badly...people don't tend to appreciate his somewhat violent hellos...but generally, I love his enthusiastic hooligan approach to life. He makes me smile... :) :) :)

    Didn't you see his surfwear? ;D ;D ;D 8)

It's funny though, we spend a lot of time training our dogs but underneath it we'd be horrified if that squashed their personalities. I think that's why I like positive based training as they're engaged and it's part of them not replacing their personality with a robot dog :)

Charlie's natural state is absolutely as a hooligan - an over enthusiastic, over friendly, hooligan. And I love him for it - it's who he is. ;D ;D ;D

Although, someone has swapped my dog.

I have just got back from the appointment with a specialist about his ear (will post in a mo - super interesting) and the specialist said "I can see he is very quiet for a young labrador". Ha ha ha. I felt a tad smug. (Which means Charlie is bound to do something horrific, in front of people I want to impress, and very soon).

I think dogs called Charlie are hooligans ;D, whilst walking my Charlie yesterday I met a lovely lady in my village, as we approached she said "oh hi Charlie I haven't seen you for ages and you are so sweet" with that he jumped up balancing on his back legs and licked her face - I was so embarrassed :-[ Lynne just laughed and cuddled him which of course didn't help ::) :)

I think Charlie may have been swapped too as he his walking on a slack lead and listening for the clicker for a whole 40 minutes, strange very strange ;D x

Good boy Choc Charlie I do believe all the training is now paying off - yeah !!

Thumbs up for our Charlie's :)

Yay! I think it's ok to celebrate the enthusiastic friendliness (even if mostly, we want their paws on the floor ::)) - it's part of what we love about these dogs! :* :* :*

    Charlies rock! ;D ;D ;D

    Go Charlies :D

I think the missing naughtiness might have lodged here. We had a major duck food stealing incident on Thursday that turned into an appalling poo and spew extravaganza at 3am Friday.

    Ah well, at least he's learned a lesson ( ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D )
    ....for a day maybe ;)

That should make Lisa safe for a few days then.

Heh heh....well we had a sleepiness night last week due to the purloined microwave popcorn making it's, er, reappearance. Glad it's someone else's turn.... ;D

Just caught up on this...think I missed the pop corn purloin?and sorry Obi had a digestive explosion....!
I'm glad you've made progress with the postman Julie ,bet he is too ;D I think things you've trained do just click ( pardon the pun for those of us that use clickers! ;D) and you get the behaviour you want pretty consistently.we had an epiphany this week....settling on his bed inside when we are outside in the garden, usually he gets up and peers out the window at us,making me feel really guilty ,sometimes he'll do a couple of woofs ,bit of whining, then he'll fling himself down blocking the door so when we try to come in,he can leg it outside again :D .of course he's allowed out with us but he's daft and won't lie in the shade when he settles down ( need to train that obviously ::)) so after a while I put him inside for his own good..
Anyway since my parents have been here,he's just settled on his bed when I've put him inside and he stays there....the first day I worried he was sick and I had got distracted and let him have too much sun ::) ..but no,he seems to just get that when he comes in he needs to settle down on one of his beds....fingers crossed though , you know how it goes ::) I've been royally paid back big time this morning with super hooligan tendencies very adequately displayed and I don't actually consider Dex that much of a hooligan!

Maybe there is a set level of entropy (disorder) across the network. Obviously Charlie and Simba are the main elements taking up this energy, but it obviously can involve others! ;D ;D ;D

Entropy can never decrease - so someone is always going to have it! ;D ;D ;D
