The vet's place we went to today is an old animal hospital in Wimbledon - called Stone Lion. Outside are 2 big (guess what? ;D ) stone lions. I guess we missed animal statues on our socialisation list ;D ;D ;D. Charlie stood stock still, and looked very, very suspicious (this is not at all normal for where-fools-rush-in Charlie...). We had to put a sea biscuit on a stone paw before he'd approach!

He soon recovered and peed on them though! ;D ;D ;D

On one of our walks we have a large brass statue of a former Prime Minister. It's hollow, so when you bark at it, it rings. Then you bark harder. It rings more, and so on. Like the Stone Lion the statue also dispenses treats which has made it a lot less bark-worthy.

Oh goodness, that's so funny! ;D We've had similar - statues are clearly deeply worrying things... ::)

Amazing how they can get over the fear once they understand food might be involved

Yes, obviously, I can't really remember Charlie doing this with anything else. He looked a bit wary the first time he had to walk passed the massive very noisy and blowey indoor fan heater on full blast at the hydro centre, but apart from things like that, not really. Isn't it odd?
