Lady flatly refused towalk this morning. She's developed a limp again, but I'm hoping that isn't the ED resurrecting itself again and is just a strain, but I don't think that was why she was refusing. I frankly think she can't take any more wading through constant mud and water all the time in the fields. Well she's done a wee, but no pooh yet so I'll have to keep an eye on that. Might try her in the car to some higher ground later on.
Re: Couldn't get her out this morning! Oh dear, how very unlike her! Not good at all :-\ Yes, it can't help having to deal with all the water the whole time, it's like doing epic aquarobics session for the poor girl. Hope she's better after a rest up. Best wishes from one Small Black Dog (and owner) to another
Re: Couldn't get her out this morning! That's not good . Harley is like that if it's hail stoning, she will flatly refuse to go out! Higher ground might be a good idea I hope her limp doesn't turn out to be serious x
Re: Couldn't get her out this morning! Oh David I am sorry, poor girl, hoping her limp is nothing to worry about
Re: Couldn't get her out this morning! David, truly hope Lady is OK and that's it's nothing serious :'(. A days rest by the fire might be in order xxxx
Re: Couldn't get her out this morning! I hope that Lady is well and it's just a case of her pointing out that - even for a Labrador - you can have a little too much of the wet stuff. Clare
Re: Couldn't get her out this morning! Hi Guys. Thanks for the replies. Got her out this evening in sun, wind and showers. Fields just as flooded but she was really keen to go and no sign of a limp. No idea what that was about then because she wouldn't weight bear on her right front this morning. Checked her out for obvious stuff like thorns in the pads or between the toes, but nothing found. Anyway off she went this evening hooning through the flood water as happy as anything. Didn't take her far just in case, but we did a bit of tennis ball retrieving in and across the flood water. It will be interesting to see if she's ok tomorrow.
Re: Couldn't get her out this morning! Oh good. Fingers crossed the mystery limp doesn't resurface then. Hope you get some more sun for her to enjoy tomorrow.
Re: Couldn't get her out this morning! Here's hoping all is well, and the dratted floods recede soon too. Well.....maybe leaving a bit of a puddle for the odd hooning opportunity
Re: Couldn't get her out this morning! Hope there is no recurrence of the limp David, and that the floodwater subsides soon.
Re: Couldn't get her out this morning! Glad Lady got better as the day has gone on David, these limps are such a worry ,especially when there is a history I really hope the weather gets better soon,it's not fun for any of you trying to get out in the chaos all the rain has caused x
