So.... After her 2 weeks on clavamox her urine still tested positive. They wanted us to wait 2 weeks before sterile sample but she was already showing symptoms. I got back in and they did the sterile collection and started her on a broad spectrum ab until results came back. She has been peeing blood for 6 days straight. Ughhhhhh. Got results yesterday and it is ecoli. So back on clavamox for 4 weeks then a retest. Our girl has only been off antibiotics for maybe 10 days since 8 weeks. Hoping we can get it cleared and maintained till her first heat since she does have recessed vulva. So far we have spent over $500 on this uti and praying it is nothing more serious. She is now 19 pounds!

I know antibiotics, can wipe out good bacteria, and a pro biotic yogourt is good for this, maybe check its okay to give to a young pup, but I think it is. Re: Marley update / 13 weeks / ecoli Your poor little baby! I hope she's doing well on the antibiotics an she makes a speedy recovery. Once this has cleared up hopefully you should have an easier time keeping the UTIs away until her first season.
