I decided to risk buying some lovely new throws for my bedroom at the weekend. Brods has always had a dreadful love of soft furnishings and for the past two years i havent bothered buying anything nice for the house just in case ( got my two both at eight week old, and only six months apart from each other)...anyway five days on, one ( and only one) firm Ah Ah when a guilty looking black labrador was discovered dreamily sucking the edg of new throw in preparation for a lovely chewing session later, and the throws are still immaculate...

And the past couple of weeks Ive got up, got dressed, put the coffee on, and gone back into my bedroom to find two labradors still on my bed thumping tails at me but in no hurry to get up...

And last weekend I seemed to have a Lie In...till eight thirty am....and they lay in with me....

Suddenly realised brods will be two in a week and a half, and they arent puppies anymore...there is distinctly more calmness in my house....where has the time gone???!!

Its lovely to realise they do become more responsible and trustworthy with age.

Brodick, your mummy is nostalgic for old times and secretly wants you to nibble on a throw ;)

I've noticed with my two that they sleep now if nothing's going on.

When we come in after a walk and training they will have a drink then flop. Not that long ago they would be looking for what mischief they could get up to.

I love puppies but it makes life easier when they start behaving like dogs. ::)

as if by magic....heard sounds of labrador-esque huge excitement, crashing, banging, panting, and loud yelping about an hour and a half after I posted this....trotted into lounge to investigate. Cuillin is standing wagging in amused encouragement at brodick, who has whipped himself into a frenzy with a metal salad bowl he had, erm, helped tidy away from the kitchen counter....it was upside down sliding about on the carpet with him in hot pursuit and he was beside himself with noisy excitement as he couldn't pick it up, but it would scoot away from him every time he smacked it with his paw or tried to bite it....after joining Cuillin for a while wqtching and laughing at him, I had to remove it from him as the walls were starting to look in danger of getting a bit of a hammering....he's still got that daft puppy in him :D

Yes they're not puppies for long are they? But they always seem to have the puppy stage in them even when they're older. Megs had been playing down the park with her friend Sam and she got tired and sat there and the look on her face so reminded me of when she was a puppy. Long time ago now.
