Just saw a reference to this on another thread, and it reminded me I've been meaning to ask for ages if anyone knows about or has had experience of a split season. My mum's border collie is two years old. On her fourth season, she came into heat early, started bleeding, but then every thing stopped, and the expected light colored discharge never appeared. She never 'flagged', nor was she particularly interesting to other dogs. This was around three weeks ago - is it likely that she will go back into season? Re: Split season Hi Karen , I dont really know a lot about this, but think maybe your Mum should have the heads up that the season may just suddenly start again ? In reality, it is rare, but better to be vigilant than end up with a tummy full of pups :
