Lovely morning here, just been for a nice long walk. On the way back I met up with an acquantaince with 7 Italian Spinones so the two of us and 9 dogs started walking back together on the route of an old railway line. As we came round the corner we saw what looked like a group of 30-40 cyclists with bikes leaned against a wall but when we got closer we saw it was a group of elderly lady walkers sitting down with their backs to a wall enjoying the sun and eating a picnic lunch. The 9 dogs stopped as one, a mutual Naughty Glance went round the pack and they charged at the picnic site at full pelt. The ladies were all elderly and clearly struggling to stand up quickly so were putting their unguarded foodstuffs into open tupperware tubs on the ground whilst dragging themselves upright on the wall/their walking sticks. Tarka had half a ham sandwich and Lochan a large piece of homemade flapjack before their ears started working again and they recalled to hastily applied slip leads. Not so the Spinones. Think 7 large foxes in a hen coop of elderly arthritic hens and you'll get a rough idea of the carnage that ensued, very difficult for one person to clip leads onto front-fastening harnesses of 7 Spinones intent on snaffling food. I must admit to legging it quickly down the walk with the girls, the air ringing with frantic shouts of "leave it" mixed in with profuse and loud apologies from the poor Spinone owner.....
Re: Tarka and Lochan are naughty again...... Oh dear! The picture you painted did make me giggle. I'm sure the old ladies will see the funny side - in retrospect. We are just off for a walk along a disused railway, usually I have to keep an eye out for pheasants but today I'll also be looking out for picknickers. Alice
Re: Tarka and Lochan are naughty again...... Actually I'm still blushing, feeling guilty at running away leaving the Spinone owner with the fallout as I'm fairly sure Lochan was the ringleader.....

[/quote] Bwahaha! ;D ;D ;D Sorry, but makes me feels so much better about Charlie's street sandwich snatch! Hopefully no real harm done (missing flapjacks aside).
Re: Tarka and Lochan are naughty again...... He he he he......made my day ;D Hopefully the old ladies were ok (albeit with less lunch than planned)
Re: Tarka and Lochan are naughty again...... I`ve been there too Lochan , re a Cornish pasty incident , its just awful and yet hilarious all rolled into one

Re: Tarka and Lochan are naughty again...... Oh, lordy. Those poor ladies. Hopefully they are all laughing about it now too
Re: Tarka and Lochan are naughty again...... That should be a cartoon... If the 7 of them were working together, they should have got quite a haul. : Clare
Re: Tarka and Lochan are naughty again...... I love spinonis Otis has a friend Alfie who is one, such a funny scene it must have been ! x
Re: Tarka and Lochan are naughty again...... Gotta google spinone's now just so I can firmly set the picture in my mind......hilairious ;Dmx
Re: Tarka and Lochan are naughty again...... Lochan, I think Pippa should give you your own section as the stories you have to tell are belly bustingly funny and never fail to leave me imagining the scene for sometime ;D. There was the pheasant stuffed in your rucksack infront of the walkers, the chicken snatched from the garden that you poked back in through the hedge and the funniest one is this. You are a star for making us all laugh, just wish you had photos too ;D ;D ;D ;D I hope the Spinone owner wasn't a good friend of yours ;D Brilliant - thanks xxx
