Hi, We are putting Bailey into kennels for a week in June by that time he will be 7 months old. We are also putting him in overnight next month basically just to let him get a feel of the place. Never having put a dog into kennels before we're a bit worried (visited a few kennels and this one is by far the best), has anyone had the experience of putting a puppy into kennels and how did it go ?

    Hi.
I looked into kennels for a while but found a 'home care' family instead. What surprised me was that they charge exactly the same as the kennels I looked at. I was quite put off the kennels for lots of reasons but mainly the lack of company for the dogs. The whole thing was just a bit rusty and depressing. I'm sure they're not all like that though. :) Where I take her now they have up to 10 dogs at a time which my dog loves.I think she views like an activity holiday or something! The only problem is she comes back and I have to go back a few stages with her training as they don't really use the same approach to training etc and I imagine the house is a wee bit chaotic! Anyway-there are usually lots of home care adverts online. Good luck!
Oh-and maybe consider a kennel cough vaccination if nec. :)
