Lovely morning today. Crisp frost, bright sunshine and misty fields. Decided to have a spot of play letting Lady hoon off after a few thrown tennis balls. Off she goes in entirely the wrong direction. Grab the whistle - doh! Not there. Just discovered that the Small Black Dog does not respond to directions without the whistle. Amazingly she scented the ball from about 100yds away and tracked back along the scent trail. Most impressed with how good their sense of smell is. Note to self. Make sure you have the whistle next time. ;D
Re: When you forget the whistle! Love that sinking feeling when you realise you haven't got your whistle with you : I keep a spare in the car ;D

Re: When you forget the whistle! I saw a lady the other day who had her whistle attached to her lead. 8) Admittedly it was a blast whistle, but clipping your whistle or even the spare to your lead may help.
Re: When you forget the whistle! Hmm. I already have my car keys on a caribiner, so I can clip them on to a bag or outside of my coat... maybe I should just add a spare whistle to that! Fortunately I don't need reading glasses (yet), otherwise I'd have to attach them to my person too.
