Debsie mentioned BAT in another post. I read a little about it in a dog magazine this month so I am assuming it is the same thing!

My 7 year old Lab missed out on vital socialisation until he was almost 8 months old, due to an operation, he also came wired for nervousness which came down from his Father who was a FTCH! He is getting better but has been a nightmare at times. I now have his nephew who is completely different and so easy in comparison. So am intrigued by BAT and does it work?

    Hi Stacia.

The best person to reply to this is Debsie as she's giving me advice on how she's used it with cuillin in the hope I can get my two to improve more with their nervousness.

I have been using it with Scott and scout and it has worked they have definitely improved although we seem to have hit a brick wall in progress which is why I've been pestering Debsie.

Their reactivness has reduced and strangers can get much closer although we are still working on a no touch policy. ;) As we often walk with a friend and her dogs on country lanes it is not always possible to turn the dogs and walk in a different direction once we reach their reaction limit so I use high value treats.

It certainly works for my two. People can get near enough shaking hands distance from us now. Before it was just about speaking distance with a slightly raised voice. ::)

It's just too easy... should never have stored card details with Amazon. One click and it's mine.

okey dokey fellow BAT ers I will PM you all! will take me a dew days to pull it together as super busy just now and it will be a bit of a Diary Of A Novice but at least you can see what worked for Cuilli...ive added a bit of my own management techniques that might not work for every dog ( such as large doberman approaches cuillin at speed snarling, cuillin looking petrified, before she reacts - although threshold well and truly busted- mum places herself in front of her scared dog and gives the Doberman A Tremendous Shouting At In Courful Language . Im sure its ears blew back with my venom. It worked though. no reactivity from C and said Doberman legged it. C capered around me spinning happy circles and after that we seemed to take about three steps forward....maybe won't feature in BAT book :)
