Hi All Just wondering what do puppies eat ? How often do you feed them? Are first puppy is 3 weeks and we will be collecting her around the 16th April ! Very excited !!
Re: What do they eat and how often do you feed them ! The breeder should provide you with some of the food the puppy has been on and the amount to feed. Do ask them for advice before you bring the pup home.

Hi there,When I got dexter he was 5 months old and on 3 meals a day.....I think I dropped that at 6 months ( bit hazy but I know me being me it will have been whatever my Puppy book said combined with validation from on the forum ) he's always been fed as per the instructions on the bag....he's 17 months now and he doesn't gain weight easily so I'm a bit more relaxed now about measuring out training treats and deducting chicken breast form his daily food allowance but that is something to remember to do when you first get your pup so you don't over feed or let them gain their weight too quickly x

I too would take my cue from the breeder in terms of what to feed For a baby puppy 3 to 4 meals a day is usually the go. Just copying the breeder at first is the easiest and best approach and will help your puppy to settle in (as the food will be familiar).
Re: What do they eat and how often do you feed them ! A little and often is the rule. Puppies only have small stomachs so 3-4 meals a day is normal. Stick to the same food as the breeder recommends, at least for the first few weeks. Changing food can upset their stomachs for a few days, and she'll have enough new things to cope with during that time. And please - PICTURES

Which is why it s so important you are considering this now! As everyone has already said, speak to your breeder. He / she might give you some of the food that the pups are used to when you collect the pup, but do make sure you have asked in advance so you can get supplies in at home. You may well find that the change of environment and car ride gives your pup an unsettled tum anyway, and the very last thing you want to do is change food too. And yes, puppy pics. Definitely! Clare
