    Hi All,

Well its my first day with puppy and now the real questions start coming :)

Its been less than a day and I have started picking up a routine with puppy in terms of needing to make a wee.. after spending time in his short term confinement area (crate), normally sleep time, when he wakes up he immediately needs a wee, so I quickly take him outside and he wee’s along the way (generally outside).

My problem is that I cant seem to get him to wee outside in his designated area. This area is sandy so im wondering if this is the reason for not wanting to wee there?

    Cheers,
    Robbie

It took me a while to get Charle to wee where I wanted him to...

But if you don't want him to wee on the way, can't you just pick him up and carry him to the toilet area? Then keep him there 'til he wees, then reward...if no wee, back in crate for 10 mins, then try again.

Btw...we want photos of Zulu! Photos! We want photos!

Yep......your avatar picture is FAR to small to satisfy the hoards of puppy lovers on here.
Is your designated area too far away to be practical at the moment?
What am I saying?.....this is day 1!! Loads of time, don't stress!

Definitely pick him up and take him out. Harley chose her spot to go.....on the right-hand side of the garden near the fence! She never goes in the middle or the left! ???

As its only been 1.5 dayys, it seems to be going reasonably well.

No poo's in the house, they all been outside, and the last few have been on his designated area outside:)

Most wee's have been outside, shortly after he wakes up and i take him outside, as well as in his designated area outside.

All in all, going well for the first 1.5 days :)
