Does anyone know how you can tell the difference between a bigger type lab and a skinnier type?? He's 8 weeks currently and was wondering if there are guidelines of finding out the difference from perhaps his weight or pedigree paper information ??

If you put up a photo we can have a guess :) If you know his parents pedigree names might you be able to find photos of them online? That'll give you a good idea of what he will grow up to look like.

Looking at parents is the best guide.

You can usually tell by the shape of the puppy too. Heavier built dogs have more substance to them even at 8 weeks, and the front legs and paws are usually much bigger, and their chest and rib cage is bigger too.

My boy looked out of proportion when very young - his legs grew and became more balanced with the rest of him. But you could tell he was from heavier built lines from the size of his leg bones. They are exaggerated even more in this shot as they are stretching toward the camera, but you get the idea, I hope.
