Over the last couple of weeks Max has not been that interested in his kibble. Its usually in the morning, he will walk over to his bowl have a look and that is it. He will usually munch it up after a good walk. He was neutered last thursday and I have been feeding him fish and rice since he has been home which he will eat with gusto. This morning I put his kibble down and he has ignored it again. Is it possible he has gone off it?? I know he would much prefer the fish and rice. Also can anyone recommend a good kibble for neutered dogs please.

    Thanks :*

Thanks - an interesting read. I will try the 5 minute method and see how I get on. I have a fussy nine year old son - I don't think I can cope with a fussy dog as well ;)

I'm a bit mercenary and would have the same approach to my fussy kids
(appreciating however this is sometimes more than just a fussy kid, not wanting to offend you weensta)

One evening my son who was probably 13 or 14 at the time said......*oh no, not mince for tea, I HATE mince, I don't like it!*
He was in fact hoping I would turn it into Cottage Pie, which he LOVES, but SOPHIE hates (aaarghh!)

He got mashed potato and veg for his tea, no mince......
Next time (as per usual) it was Cottage Pie, time after that, Mince - no complaints from then on from either of them. Learn quick ;)

    ;D ;D ;D ;D
Kids and dogs.....don't you just love 'em!!

I'm so going to do that too!!

I figure neither the dog nor the child will let themselves go hungry. Riley sometimes leaves his kibble, I have to admit I don't pick it up any more but I don't worry about it and I don't give him anything else, some days he's just not that hungry....as long as his bodily functions are all ok ;) and he's drinking normally I just let him self-regulate.

Always a bit bemused to hear of a labrador refusing food. I would what that's like? Even when Charlie was really, really poorly with his tum at Christmas, and upset after his surgery, all and any food was still inhaled in record time!
