Three weeks ago I had a spaniel who had lost the use of his back legs overnight. After opting for the conservative management plan of crate confinement and painkillers and anti-inflammatories, I now have a dog who is raring to go... He's not allowed to, mind. He has however been given permission this morning to start two short (5min) lead walks again per day, building on to 2 x 10 mins etc if he seems okay with it. He will remain on a lower dose of anti-inflammatories until June, although the painkillers will now be withdrawn to see how he copes. I have a supply should he still continue to need them. Vet is very pleased with his progress, as am I. Still need to go cautiously, but it's looking good! I am now about to cause him serious offence by heading out for a lovely long walk in this sunshine with Brew... Soon Theakston, soon! Clare

Re: Theakston Update That's great news Clare. I posted on your old Theakston thread yesterday because I was wondering how he was. I'm so pleased he's doing so well. He'll be playing out in the sun again before long. ;D

Re: Theakston Update Well, that's a relief!! Is this something that you are always going to have to manage, or will it eventually be cured!
