    Hello fellow Lab friends:

I have a 9 month old black lab (purebred) and she has chewed on the tv coaxial cable outside. Luckily, we haven't lost service, but it's probably only a matter of time as it's not looking good. Several months ago, she broke out of her crate and chewed coax cable running from tv into the room she is in - tore it into two. She was fine, but I had to go buy a new cable. It was our fault as we didn't latch the crate well enough.

The coaxial outside, I wonder if there's something metal that the cable can be pulled through in or hidden? There's gotta be something. I would like to hide the cable somehow after I have it replaced.

Hello and welcome to the forum :)
I believe that you can buy metal or plastic capping strips from electrical retailers or maybe even DIY stores , they screw to the outside wall , or you could thread it down a piece of copper pipe ?

    Metal trunking.

There are a few types. Easiest its the stuff you nail over the top.

Thanks for the replies thus far. I will have to re-read the responses again later. I've thought of conduit. I have no experience using it though. There is siding near, don't want to nail anything to the siding really if I don't have to.

Am in U.S, not Great Britain, wonder what Lowes, Menards, Home Depot might have......

Lowes were off-line when I looked, but Menards look like they have something suitable here

    http://www.menards.com/main/electrical/rough-electrical/conduit/c-6423.htm?criteria2_facet=Non-Metallic+Liquidtight.

I guess they have the necessary fixings and fittings to go through the wall as well. Inside some half round plastic raceway would probably do the job.

If it's any consolation my dog, Lady, ripped out 3 telephone systems when she was a pup. I ended up having to house the wall receptacle in a polypropylene vandal proof box!

Oh - welcome to the forum! 4 year old black girl here called Lady.

How about aversion therapy? Maia ate the electrics (yes, still plugged into the mains ) to our central heating boiler! She munched through the conduit on the second occasion -oh yes, not just the once! So we took to extreme measures and left her with clipped up but disconnected lengths of wire coated in various yucky tasty substances, although apparently mustard, horseradish and month toothpaste were yummy cayenne in tomato paste was not. She eventually learnt to associate the cable shape with the revolting taste and finally gave up on her designs to melt our wiring. During the aversion therapy the vital wires were wrapped in multiple layers of weld mesh.
    Good luck

Sorry all, I read all the responses. My new Cable provider really tightened the cabling up and she has left it alone for months.
