Just got back from the paddock and Charlie can now sit and wait the full length never moving and only comes when I call him, which is a very, very long distance. There is an adjoining fenced walk way that I take him through off lead for practice. He watches me go to the gate, follows and sits until I go through and then he comes all the time watching me for the ball that holds magical powers!! I have been trying to get him off lead to heel with the ball in my hand as the 'treat' as he is not too bothered about food treats and he did it today quite well a few times and really focussed on me. Really wish I could let him off lead as I am becoming impatient now, I often think what would he do if I did! ;)

Moving onto next exercise of Total Recall tomorrow which is 'Come away from an exciting person' when my friend arrives, so that should be fun. The light at the end of the tunnel is moving closer!! Helen x :)

Respect! I have been sent back to square one by Pippa ( ::) ) to get all the foundation work done on Lady this summer so I'll be in touch about how you did all this good work.

Hardly recognisable from the Charlie you first introduced us to.....and all because of your hard work and perseverance. I'm with Karen I hope you're rightly proud of yourselves :)

Crikey you have indeed worked wonders! Well one you and Charlie. He has come on leaps and bounds. You've been so patient too. I need to borrow some of yours to keep to the programme with Young Sir Brodick-Descend-Into-Red-Hunt-Mist-and- Chase-Rabbit-and ignore-owner-while doing-so- a-Lot...

Thanks guys I appreciate the support as always, just really desperate to get him sorted as we seem to have been going for so long now. David you made my day asking me for help - wow that is a rare thing indeed as I have been so rubbish at this dog training lark!!! ;) Karen I feel a little chuffed with myself I must admit ;) Charlie certainly wouldn't win any prizes but he has made huge improvements in the last 4 months since joining this forum and using all the techniques and help that you have all given me. Before that Charlie was running around like a lunatic and leaving me in fields wondering if he would ever return  It is amazing what lengths we all go to for our dogs and I can't imagine my life without them even after 3 solid hours of dog walking/training!! Thank you all again I couldn't do it without you :D Helen xx
