Re: A worrying time...... My goodness, how scary! Glad to hear all is well...both my previous dogs had parvo and survived but it was not fun at the time. Glad she didn't have that!
Re: A worrying time...... Thank you all so much for your good wishes - the night passed peacefully and uneventfully, poo this morning was almost normal, stitches etc from the spay are healing well (although she looks like a patchwork quilt with all the shaved bits!) and I'm optimistic that the worst is behind us. Now to keep her out of trouble for the next week or so........
Re: A worrying time...... I am so glad she is improving......I really feel for you xx Harley had a similar tummy problem which has been on and off since January this year.......the symptoms (apart from vomiting blood) were exactly like Harley. The vets couldn't find anything with stool samples, urine samples and bloods! She was on chicken and rice for at least a month, plus the odd few days here and there. Every time we reintroduced her food, it flared up again. That settled her tum so vets think she is wheat intolerant or something similar. We Changed her food and hey presto! All perfect just thought I would say incase it's something similar. Hopefully she will continue to improve. Please give her tummy rubs from me xxx
Re: A worrying time...... I'm so sorry kath I've only just seen your thread. Thank goodness Merla is alright now. That must've been so horrendous for you. They know how to make us worry these dog.
Re: A worrying time...... Hi, I am sorry to hear that your Labrador has been so unwell. There is a possibility that her illness was a reaction to the anesthetic. My previous Labrador, Storm, had a adverse reaction in the form of a large lump at the site of his anesthetic injection when having a tooth removed. Just a thought.......
Re: A worrying time...... Great news Kath, time will pass, and after such a fright the spay recovery won't faze you xxx
