Anne, that does sound unusual. I would be taking him to the vet if I were you. It is hard to identify exactly what might be causing this behaviour and I personally would say that a vet examination is best.

I also think you should take him to vet. Does he behave like this during the day? Is there anything he could be scared of at night, could he be in pain, could your JR be giving him a subliminal message which scares him, was he stung. So first of all see if he has any illness or injury by seeing a vet.

No the jrt they get on realy well he's eating going for walks and all is fine, he's a bit more clingy in day than normal. He is worse at night when we watching TV, yet he sleeps in the TV room all night and that don't bother him.

It definately sounds like there is something or someone annoying him especially if he is fine at all other times. Something must trigger it.

I don't think a vet is gonna help with this.

Tail between the legs is stress/anxiety, but not necessarily caused by something external to the dog. It's not a calming signal. Does sound like something is really bothering him though.

I took Shane to the vets they gave him a good examination and there is nothing medically wrong. But what they did say leave him till Tuesday if still no better then he is going in to have blood tests to see if it's hormonal or if there is anything else going on. Thank you all for your help and advice

I'm glad the vet has checked him over and nothing so far is wrong ;)

Something might have made a loud noise recently and that might of affected him??

Is the dog OK now or just the same?

Nothing to do with the vet visit, I just mean is the dog OK?

Hmm, have you seen him scratching or chewing at himself? You mentioned that he had food allergies....

He's not been scratching, chewing, he's wormed and as flea treatment up to date. I got his food sorted so he's been on same food now for two years, with no problem at all he's not being sick or diarrhoea. The only problem he has was a mass cell tumour but that was removed and was over a year ago.

    Re: Little problem

I hope he improves :) It sounds like your vet is ready to follow up with some investigation if Shane stays the same over the next few days.

It's always worrying when they don't seem quite right, isn't it.
