How many do your dogs know ? Maggie x

Gosh, well Megs is deaf now and we do sign language which she's picked up quickly. When she could hear she knew sit, down, stay, come, wee wee, where's Grandad/uncle Dave. And she knew Dad/nana when they were alive. Oh and dinner, treat, walkies, kiss, give paw, roll over, up (to get into car or onto settee) and who's that, she'd then go looking. Interesting, that's 17.

I think there was a post on here previously with the words dogs knew and it was pretty impressive.

    Yep, here it is:

Where did the '15 words' suggestion come from, Maggie? It does sound rather conservative, and doesn't really take account of the fact that dogs don't have 'vocabulary' as such, but do have an extensive ability to distinguish tiny differences in sensory stimuli from all sources.

Otis has already disproven the '15 word limit' theory :) And I'm sure he'll know three times that in a year.
