Re: Spay aftercare Four hours after she came out of theatre after her spay Lochan decided that all this resting lark was a waste of time and decided to try and initiate a hoolie with Tarka. She leaped clean over an armchair and cleared half a flight of stairs whilst bum-tucking round the house. She was fine but I looked at the wound with some trepidation! Modern anaesthetics, good new surgical techniques and very effective pain relief make them feel a bit too well at times.....

And I wasn't allowed to even lift a kettle for weeks after my 'spay'!
Re: Spay aftercare I couldn't believe Charlie after his cruciate op - the surgeon still had Charlie's lead in his hand (he hadn't even handed him over to me) and Charlie jumped up and tried to counter surf to reach the dog biscuits on display in the waiting room. You'd have thought he'd have left it 24 hours at least...but no.
Re: Spay aftercare When I had my last dog, Holly, spayed some friends came round to play cards in the evening. Little Holly was curled up in her basket all the ladies sympathised as they had all had been "done" Half an hour later I look out the window to see her rushing round the back garden and using her collar as a plough. She did look funny with grass whizzing over her head and landing on her back.

Re: Spay aftercare :-\ Hubby is dropping Amy at the vets tomorrow, I will be at work. Thinking I should have booked it off as my mind will be with my girl. Her comfy collar got caught on the Easter post so I only just picked it up today!!! Its laid out on the sofa for her to sniff.

[/quote] No no - it's good to be at work, keep busy. I felt terrible on the day Tatze was spayed, and the day after. Like I had made her ill, which I had really :'( But, after a couple of days I recovered and now I am relieved it's all over. She was just brilliant through it all and didn't hold it against me Thinking of you.
