I'm afraid I must disagree with your vet, Lynne. Dry food is better for teeth than wet food but it doesn't clean the outside of the teeth. Chews and brushing will :)

Good to hear that Jasper has naturally sparkling gnashers though :)

Teeth cleaning disciple just checking back in ;D ....some of you will know I'm religious about it and do it every day .....it wasn't always so easy when he was a pup but repitiion, patience ,and consistency plus our own unique method have helped me.
I brush with a human tooth brush and dog toothpaste but the best piece of my kit is a little sock that I put over my finger and I can really get down to the back now and around his big back teeth and gums....I could do with a replacement one to be honest and haven't been able to find one but my Mum's friend said to check out Mothercare around the teething equipment/ age range as she thinks she's seen something that would do the job in there.I got a few nips in the early days just by being in the wrong place in his mouth but I know what to expect now and we do it quite efficiently.

I have never been to a vet that advised teeth cleaning, hence I had never heard of it when I got Hattie :( I do know kibble will not clean teeth though, however I do give totally consumable bones and chews, Fish4Dog treats to help with teeth cleaning :)
