Katie absolutely looooooves rolling in fox poo. Any ideas how we can stop this behavior? This is what she did today:

My tip is not to mess around with ketchup (it will put you off ketchup for life) but go get some shares in Animology's Fox Poo Shampoo. Sorry, I can't help with the prevention strategies
Re: Fox poo Might not work with Katie but if I see cuillin about to drop that shoulder and roll I shout 'Nooooooooo, BATH cuillin', she is an avid swimmer and loves water but hates baths. And it works! She stops mid shoulder drop...you have to be catching them in the act mind you for this prevention strategy....doesnt work with brodick...
Re: Fox poo I need to find this Fox Poo shampoo! For the first time in her 16 months (exactly to the day!) Mira has rolled in the stuff up on the moors! We smelt it before she actually located it and did the enthusiastic rolling, but too late! She was frothing at the mouth with sheer ecstasy Fortunately we don't seem to come across it on our local patch. She makes do with rolling in bird poo, hedgehog poo, long-dead hare, sheep etc, or dead seal/birds at the beach, none of which are too problematic to wash off. The 40 minute drive home was delightful. She's just had the second bath with normal shampoo so the smell has lost some of it's all-pervading pungency and I acquired some Vanish stain powder stuff which I added to boiling water and soaked her collar - seems to have done the trick. Off to the pet shop on Monday - we WILL be prepared the next time!
Re: Fox poo Yuuukkkk, Charlie has only ever rolled twice and Hattie doesn't but for that occasional Charlie roll I use ANIMOLOGY Fox Poo and it's just great as you just apply to the affected area so no full bath needed. You can get it in Pets at home or TK Maxx.

Re: Fox poo Yup - Fox Pooh shampoo seems to do the job. I find it's more effective if you sponge the worst off first going in the direction of the dog's coat. Otherwise you can drive the stuff down into the coat and then it's with you for days! ;D Haven't discovered how to stop Lady from rolling except to keep vigilant. I find she's become crafty and lags behind to have a roll, or if I'm she thinks I'm not looking she drops her shoulder and does one quick slide then stands up quickly tail wagging but looking innocent. :

Several of our independent dog shops stocked it before PAH so you may be in luck. Looks like you can get it on Amazon too. I am pretty sure I didn't pay any more than that at PAH either. "Free" P&P.
