Hi everyone, meg is in her don't want to eat mood. I've had her checked with our lovely vet who can't find anything wrong. We think she just gets fussy from time to time. So I got some samples from different dog food suppliers, one being fish4dogs and the other was europa. She turned her nose up at the europa but scoffed the fish4dogs. When I ordered the samples I ordered small bite and normal. Meg prefers the small bite rather than the normal. Do you think it would do her any harm to have the small bite as this intended for smaller dogs? Just wondering if she would get same nurtrients. Mind you eating small bite is preferable to her not eating.
Re: Fish4dogs I don't see a problem with the small bite. Harley's new food is a lot smaller and she seems to enjoy this as there is more of it
Re: Fish4dogs Yep, my Lab's kibble is very small, about the size of a little finger nail, well perhaps a wee bit bigger! He is a big boy, weighs 30kg.
Re: Fish4dogs We feed Obi 'small dog' kibble as training treats (for when we don't need super dooper treats). They are no different apart from the size - it's just a marketing thing If she likes it, definitely use it.
Re: Fish4dogs Sometimes the nutrient content can be different in foods designed for small dogs, but I can't see that it will do her any harm at all - she obviously prefers the smaller kibble size! Plus like you said - it's better than eating nothing at all! I think some companies that make a small dog food as well as a normal dog food put extra appetising things in the smaller dog food as small dogs are notoriously fussy eaters.
Re: Fish4dogs Thanks for that everyone. I've ordered a 1.5kg bag now from fish4dogs. See how she goes and if she keeps eating it will get bigger bag. Think I'm just a worry guts at time as far as meg is concerned.
