Re: The inconsiderateness of other owners. Being firmly a local I did my stint on the Parish Council a decade or so ago in our village (raised a few eyebrows being obviously a biker/hippie type lol). My main mission was to get poo bins installed all over our village which I eventually did ..... you guessed, absolutely no difference to the amount of abandoned dog poo. The other bee in my bonnet was local footpaths and trying to get them cleared and folk to use them properly. In the almost three years I was a Councillor, nag as I did, I got nothing changed at all :-X
Re: The inconsiderateness of other owners. Out with a friend and her dog the other week, she picked up the poo and left the bag on the ground. I looked quizzical and she explained she'd pick it up on the way back, so as not to have to carry it all the way, which she did. I guess this is OK but I'm not sure everyone who leaves bags around does this.
Re: The inconsiderateness of other owners. I do sometimes hang a poo bag in a tree where I can see it clearly, so that on my return I can pick it up and take it home, don't want to lug it all around the walk. I did suggest to the conservators that they put a poo bin just a hundred yards from the car park where most dogs seem to poo and no-one picks up. I am sure people would pick it up and put it in the bin if it was that convenient. But there answer was NO! So we have no bins to put it in. Still no excuse though.
Re: The inconsiderateness of other owners. I have invested in a Dicky Bag. Marvellous thing, hangs off my rucksack or bumbag, has a holder for spare poo bags and a scented disc for inside. You get a variety of sizes and when zipped up there is no smell whilst walking or even when left in the car in the summer overnight by accident.
Re: The inconsiderateness of other owners. Around our village there isn't really a problem, but at school on the big playing fields where we go to do PE, there is A LOT if poo. I find this absolutely horrible and especially when there's going to be 1000+ kids there (not all at once though!) Sophie
Re: The inconsiderateness of other owners. Kind of amusing, but not really - very impressive tree ???
Re: The inconsiderateness of other owners. It's so annoying, there is a 2 minute walk down to the beach with a bin at the top and a bin at the bottom of the road and you will always find an abandoned bag of poo or poo on the pavement. You have non doggie people give you disapproving looks :-[ Feel like saying have you seen my pockets they're stuffed with poo bags and treats it wasn't me!!
Re: The inconsiderateness of other owners. I honestly have to say that people here are pretty good at taking the poo away...it's not often that I see any "left - behinds" on my walks, either bagged or un bagged. There are poo bags at frequent intervals available on the town walking paths, and signs stating that you must clean up after your dog. Actually the worst place for finding poo is the dog park, go figure....
Re: The inconsiderateness of other owners. My sister says that in Australia you have poo bags as well as poo bins available for free.
Re: The inconsiderateness of other owners. Every coat and bag I own has at least 3 poo bags at all times along with treats, tennis balls and water bottles lol

Re: The inconsiderateness of other owners. When we went to Miami a few years ago, along the beach front there are free poo bag dispensers, I watched a man pick up his dogs poo get a bottle of water out and clean the pavement thoroughly and place the bag in the bin, I was so impressed, so why can't people here behave so responsibly :-\ Same here every coat has poo bags in and I also tie a few to my lead just incase
Re: The inconsiderateness of other owners.
My sister says that in Australia you have poo bags as well as poo bins available for free.
Bags are often provided free at places like dog parks and sometimes normal public parks, yes. Usually plenty of bins too. I remember poo lying on the ground being a huge problem as a kid. Enough said. But these days, a hundred times better.
Re: The inconsiderateness of other owners. Some councils in Scotland supply free bags. Availble in places like libraries. I have seen the odd bag dispenser at the beginning of walks. I think Dundee City council provide them. Not Fife though. So sad how thoughtlessness spoils it for all
