Still waiting for the Vet to call - he's operating all day but will ring this evening and take a look at Lady if any doubts. She's lying behind me on her vet bed in the office as I type this licking her dicky leg (not the wound). Oh - correction she's licking other places now but best not dwell on that!

Didn't speak to the vet yesterday. He was operating until midnight! Lady seems much less distressed today though so hopefully all ok. I only took her for one short walk out and she had bed rest the rest of the day.

This morning on the way out she was very reluctant until she saw Gats - her boyfriend. Gats is 12 and has bad arthritis so can only do short walks as well. He perked her up! Then, would you believe it, tail wags and down goes the shoulder! Like an idiot I try to stop this with a hand under the shoulder. The hand (fortunately gloved) gets carried down WITH the shoulder all the way to the ground. At this point Gats went home.

She's all clean again now next to me as I steel myself to getting on with some work.

Just spoke to vet. He reckons all ok and it is often like that in the first 10 days or so. No swellings so ok. Suggested a half paracetamol twice a day. I thought you couldn't give that to dogs but he said ok for dogs but not for cats,

Oh thats great David, been thinking of Lady and hoping all is well and yes, you`re right , paracetomol is a killer for cats and asprin is bad for dogs , so pleased that all is well
