So went out for a walk today, looking forward to checking out the fields that are close by my house, for the first time in MONTHS. Finally the snow has melted and things should be dried up enough for a nice ramble. Got there and was faced with this: image by psalmone1, on Flickr Drat. I walked around the perimeter, as across the field there's s place where it joins up to another one, and then another one adjacent to that, from which you can go on a nice woodland walk. But I got to where the two fields join, and : image by psalmone1, on Flickr Kept trooping around the edge, to try the other spot where you can get to another field, my last hope: image by psalmone1, on Flickr No hope there, either. Darn farmers, anyway, taking away my nice walks.... : On a brighter note, here's the boy decked out in his new collar and harness: image by psalmone1, on Flickr image by psalmone1, on Flickr New duds by psalmone1, on Flickr He looks rather grumpy about the whole thing, doesn't he? I think it's because I had spent some time fiddling with the harness to get the fit right, so he had been in it for a few minutes already and NO WALK yet... : I'm sad about the fields, though. It's only about a block and a half away from my house, and good spots to practice whistle training ( when we get to that stage) as they are big fields bounded by trees, a nice open area. Sigh..... :-\
Re: Darn it!! Thanks, Rachel, we like it! They only had three patterned ones, a blue gecko pattern, a red chili pepper pattern, or this "Aztec" one. I wasn't in love with the other two but I did kinda like the blue/red with his fur....but in the end I thought the golden colour matched his eyes 8) Plus this is from a company called "Canadog" and I liked their logo with the Maple leaf...I mean, he IS a Labrador/Newfie cross, you can't get more Canadian than that, so may as well wear the colours with pride. ;D The harness is really nice and lightweight, made with quick-drying ripstop nylon, with padding in the chest and around the legs. I suite like it, although the one down side is that you have to lift one paw to get him in it, my other one has snap buckles on both side so no lifting of paws. But this company makes a lot of sled dog harnesses, so they know about making harnesses - these got good reviews on their site, seem to be well-made, etc.
Re: Darn it!! Field situation.....rubbish Harness situation..........gorgeous, he looks very suave ! I struggle to see Newfie in him though,he looks all lab to me......maybe he has Newfie in his whiskers? ;D
Re: Darn it!! I was thinking the same as Angela , how Labby he looks and fab too in his new gear ;D ;D
Re: Darn it!! Hi Lisa, I would never of guessed he was a Newfie/lab cross, I've seen labs that look less like labs! He is very handsome indeed.
Re: Darn it!! He does look a bit like he's think 'hurry up this is boring I've things I could be doing' He does look gorgeous and smart though.
Re: Darn it!! Simba you look like a real cool dude in that striking collar and harness 8) What a pain about the fields, this really isn't helping. Is there any where you could drive to Lisa? x
