    Hi,

Do you mean catch as in catch a ball or a frisbee? If so, dogs are a bit like people, some are natural catchers, but all can learn to improve with practice.

At 16 months you should be able to improve his catching ability quite a bit. It's a question of building up the level of difficulty slowly, so that he gets to practice and grow in confidence at the same time. Start with really easy throws and try to ensure he can catch at least four out of every five throws before you increase distances/angles etc.
