Re: I must stop buying!! Jane, you should see her barking, growing and yapping at the water bottles, etc! Such a tom boy! x ;D ;D
Re: I must stop buying!! not yet jane he's arriving on saturday been trying to labrador proof the house
Re: I must stop buying!! Hi Chris - We've never used a crate for puppies, however you do need to look carefully at the room from a safety point of view and also expect (and accept) some damage to floors / furniture. If someone's home most of the time it can work fine without a crate.
Re: I must stop buying!! Hi Chris, When I got my first lab 14years ago I too was adamant I wasn't going to put my puppy in a cage! She was a very strong chewer and she destroyed my house. She chewed carpets, doors, sofas, walls, glasses, you name it it got chewed! This time around I am not doing the puppy thing without a crate and now understand that it is not cruel and they actually like their safe haven and it does keep them safe. Looking forward to seeing more cute pictures when you get your pup on Saturday. Boogie/Jane, I have got a small nylabone already, do i need to put the teething keys on the list of essentials that I need to buy?? Debs, I too have seen how sweet and serene Maisie looks, I'm sure she wouldn't growl and bark at anything or contemplate eating boys pants! ;D

I thought it was cruel. I now have Murphy (17 weeks old) and I simply couldn't imagine not having a crate for him. He loves it, he knows he gets nice things in his crate when I go out and looks so cosy in it at night when he goes to bed. Peace of mind for me all round when I'm at work. Good luck with your new puppies x
Re: I must stop buying!! Nicola, the nylabone teething thingy is different. I got mine off Amazon. Go on, get one. ;D ;D
Re: I must stop buying!! Just been asked to choose pup on 1st June, just around the same time as you Nicola. And had photos - looking like little chubby brown sausages!
Re: I must stop buying!! Ah Jane that's fab. Now where are the photos? I want to see the chubby brown sausages!
Re: I must stop buying!! Puppies sure put a dent in the wallet! Just like children....I just had a little pre puppy impatiently waiting shopping spree this morning.
Re: I must stop buying!! Well I don't have permission off the breeder to post photos. Sorry I would want photos from you too! Blast, I feel inadequate in the photo department. Imagine 4 reddy/brown glossy coated furry pups and 2 black ones, all cuddled up together with their eyes still closed. Well, that's them!
Re: I must stop buying!! Did the breeder ask you not to share the photos? I didn't even ask my breeder before posting mine, I didn't give it a second thought :-\ Oh well, we will have to use our imagination or Debs can give us another puppy fix for this evening!
Re: I must stop buying!! Apart from a bed, bowls, lead, toys, collar etc the two things I use ALL the time are a clicker and a treat pouch. I've also bought a rubber mat that has edges so water can't spill out off the mat - food and water bowls sit on that. Also helps to stop them sliding about. I got it at the hardware shop.
Re: I must stop buying!! Yes, a mat quickly arrived here too oh - and a heavy ceramic water bowl came quickly after the puppy - she threw her metal ones around (yes, full of water!)

Re: I must stop buying!! I said I'd be happy with black or chocolate and I have the choice out of the 3 chocolate girls. Now it's occurring to me that there may be colour variation in the chocolate. Nicola, I haven't asked for permission to post the photos but I sense it would be no as I know some of their photos were ripped off their site and used by another breeder elsewhere in the world. In really respect these breeders and don't want to do anything rash. We will have a few photos between us to post after that weekend.
Re: I must stop buying!! Does it help with the budgeting if I say Kongs don't count I justify this by saying I buy them for ME and the silence and tranquility they bring me.
Re: I must stop buying!! Buying stuff is great fun. Have you thought of a good harness ? Much nicer than collar and lead, much better for them too. Have a look at this site, pets pyjamas, and Orvis are good for lovely traditonal leather collars and other stuff. xx
