[/quote] I'm open to both, Barbara. It would be easier in some ways to have a German father, as we wouldn't have to travel to the UK with a bitch on heat, which might be a bit tricky... I'm getting to know more people via the training and competing, so I'm starting to know some of the good stud dogs around here. But all that is a way off. We need to do some more health checks first, and also she'll need to be passed by a judge for her conformity to the breed standard, and that her temperament is ok. I'd also like to do an actual hunting training and examination with her next year, because I think her pups are likely to have a strong prey drive and I think they would likely do best in homes where they would be worked, or at least go to dummy training. There's a lot of planning to do - we are having a new door put into our old garage, which would give access to a patch of lawn and the terrace - perfect for weaned puppies... We are taking this very seriously!
