Knox looks very chilled out and I love his lopsided smile!

I would say he looks a little too well-covered, although it's not easy to tell from the photo. In general, they say that, from the side, you should be able to see a good tuck-up at the waist and, looking from above, they should go in noticeably at the waist. You should be able to see the ribs when they turn or when they're eating and, when you feel the ribs, it should feel like they are covered by a blanket - not a sheet and not a duvet.

Just been working out what 51lbs is in kilos. Knox weighs around a 1lb less than Juno does. Her parents were both on the higher end of the scale size wise and I'm very conscious of her weight and working to keep her slim, more difficult at the moment as she is on a rest regime. Have you been monitoring his weight gain so that you know how much he's been gaining on a weekly basis. I would have a chat with the vet and see what their opinion is as it's difficult to always tell from photos as there is nothing to gauge his size by.

Thanks for all the replies. He by no means looks "fat". He is very stocky but you can see definition near his hips / waist section. The vet does not feel he is over weight, I was just asking to get an idea and comparison for his age!

Good to know that your vet is happy with his weight :D, just need to keep an eye on his weight as Labradors gain weight very easily. as you can see from previous postings all our pups weigh differently at different ages - there doesn't seem to be a "norm"

Hi there! I've been keeping a chart of all the dog weights on this thread - it isn't up to date (I need to do some more work!) but you can use it to see how different dogs weighed differently at certain ages. It's in kg rather than pounds - your boy at 51 lbs is 23 kg.

So at 4 months (17 weeks) he is among the biggest of our pups - just like my Pongo! - but he is not 'unusually' big. (Pongo is the red marks.)

Thanks again! He was born December 2 so he is roughly 18 weeks old. He was the largest pup in the litter with huge paws. He grows daily it seems!

Rue just turned 10 months and weighed 50 lbs (22.5 kg) at the vet last week. She has filled out quite a bit, but she's short! My husband calls her 'little stubby legs'.

Bella is now 7 months...and at the vet she was 49 pounds...to a teeny bit lighter than Rue. She's a very streamlined dog - not the blocky/stocky variety. I think she's just perfect, and don't expect she'll get much above 60 pounds if even that. She's only gained a couple pounds a month the past couple of months...slow and steady. ;D ;D

Ellie at 11 weeks is 15 pounds, which I think translates to about 5 kg.

Lola had her first weigh (with us) at the vets today and was about 4.8kg, sorting for the fact that she wouldn't stay still, at a day under 9 weeks :) really interesting to read and compare, and to see the graph, thanks for doing that :D

    Hi Debs.

Albert is doing really well and is a joy to have in our lives. No more early mornings he pretty much sleeps till we get up around 7.30 and later on a weekend. All his skin issues seem to have disappeared ( fingers and paws crossed I'm not speaking too soon) and his behaviour is almost perfect!! A few recall issues when other dogs around but mostly he's a good, calm boy. Vet very happy with his 32kg weight as its all muscle she says and he has a lovely waist lol. Which is more than I have!!!

Hope the lump in Maisie's tail amounts to nothing, and all is crossed for you on Friday. She is definitely a petite young lady. Does she let you have a lie in now Debs? They have grown so fast, and I wonder where the time has gone. Our lovely little pups all grown up. I do get puppy broody every now and again ha ha.

    Jan x

Hi Jan! Yes I get a bit of a lie in a the weekends, usually until about 8am!! Who'd have thought it!! ;D Maisie, has turned into a calm girly as well and is pretty easy going, unless a) there is food about when we are out and then she's a nightmare! b) she gets a scent and then she is off hunting! Still working on those two things ::)

Maisie's mum had another littler a few weeks ago, same sire, and I have serious puppy broodiness! I have been told NO! ;D ;D
