We went to be weighed this week. At 4 months old now, Bailey weighs 17.2kg. He was 10.0kg just over 4 weeks earlier. The vet was happy with this.

Maggie will be 18 weeks old tomorrow and is only 11.5kg. She looks very fit and healthy though. We met a 6 month old lab today who was twice her size!

Some woman called Bella 'chunks' in the park....... I reiterated the conversation to the vet which he found amusing, but agreed no one wants to be classed as a 'chunks' she's 25.9kg at 12 months ... He said she's ok but best to be 25kg for her height. She loves food, just like her mum :) to be fair though she only gets 200 g of James well beloved a day ( bag says 320g) but she also gets treats and a chew so I don't want to underfeed or over feed ahhhhh

hi I'm new here. I have a 6 month old yellow male lab called bailey and at his last vet visit he weighed 31.7kg (70lbs) I have been told that he will be a big boy. will he start to slow down now ? is it true that Labradors are half there adult weight at 6 months cos that means my bailey will be 60 kg (132lbs) that's a massive 9 and a half stone!!!

Hi tam - welcome! I've put all these puppy weights on a chart (although I'm afraid I haven't updated it since February this year, really must get onto that) and you should be able to see it if you click on the link below. I think it shows that your Bailey will be the biggest lad at 6 months, but not by much; and yes, they do tend to level off. The red blobs on the chart are my boy Pongo - he has always been big, and has leveled off at 39kg. He is nearly two years old now, and has stopped growing (thank goodness!). It nice to see another big boy on the forum!

Murphy got weighed at 5 months and 3 weeks and was 18kg. He is lanky at the mo, a big tall boy but all legs - reckon he'll end up around 26-27kg like his dad.

Glad to see I'm not alone with a heavy weight! Bruin also 5mnths is just a tad heavier at 24.5k he's absolutely solid, vet happy with his weight a week ago. I'm hoping his weight gain is slowing down a bit!

Just back from the vet for the pups' annual jabs and we popped them on the scales whilst we were there. They are both 21.8kg. I think Willow could do with losing a couple of hundred grammes - she's put on a bit with nail trimming training, even though I reduced her meals, it obviously wasn't by enough. I have to say I'm a bit surprised with how little they still weigh, though. But they are dainty things :)

Saba had a puppy check today, and weighed in at 16.5kg. He's now 15 weeks old. The nurse said he is a bit on the porky side, so we should cut his food ration from 440g to 390g per day including the treats used for training rewards. Also, there should be a greater difference between his chest measurement of 51cm and the waist measurement of 44cm.

We are careful to weigh out his food, but clearly something somewhere is going wrong! :(
