..... a bit sore in the elbows and sorry for herself. Although, mind you, her greeting of her friends the kennel maids was no less enthusiastic than it usually is. "How is she?" they asked knowing she'd had her elbow ops because I'd pre-warned them that she mustn't run, jump, trot, slip or slide, and could her bed be flat and on the level with lots of extra bedding to keep her warm because she's still a bit naked around the legs and chest where she was shaved for the op. She went in happy enough but with a sore elbow. Well I picked her up this morning after 3 days and what a transformation. The enforced rest (they have a run per kennel but no other real exercise) had been what she needed on the elbow. "She's been fine" they said, "but not going out much because of the cold weather. We put her bedding flat on the floor but she kept dragging it up onto the bed so we abandoned the floor and she seemed to be fine." they said. No running, jumping, trotting, sliding - what a joke! She is currently appearing 100% fit and short of caging her none of this is possible. The postman is firmly back on the bark at this list! She goes off out for a walk with enthusiasm again and reining her in is now quite hard. She has forgotten everything including heel, sit, wait. And we've got 3 - 9 weeks more of convalescing. Actually all this is WONDERFUL! ;D

Re: Small Black Dog goes into kennels over the weekend ......... Yes she's definitely getting back to being her old self. Shiny coat is one sign, and pinching my napkin ring and teasing me with it around the dining room table is the other. ;D
Re: Small Black Dog goes into kennels over the weekend ......... Now that sounds more like Lady! Brilliant. Helen x ;D
