Lovely photo Heidrun. My old dog Billy was a spaniel/labrador cross, and he had exactly the same amber eyes... Or 'mad yellow eyes', depending on his level of hyperactivity at the time!

Ah the lovely Ziggy he's got that slightly imperious, 'I'm really very wise' Clumber expression :)

Clumber puppies expected soon at my dog trainers, can't wait!!!

Rileys eyes are deep brown which just makes him even harder to photograph, mostly they're pleading for food. Today we popped to the vet to pick up a tick collar, he got a treat at the till (after the cheeky greyhound had stolen the first one he was going to get), then we bought some stuff in the pet shop - he got a treat at the till. Imagine the horror when the man at the till in the garden centre didn't have any dog treats! Poor man was made to feel quite guilty by my immaculately sat dog with the pleading brown eyes......I don't feed him apparently :)

Working Clumbers, Barbara? How exciting! I am relatively new to the breed but I am totally smitten. Ziggy has got the most wonderful temperament ;D :* Training and working him is very relaxing after handling my fast and furious other three hunting machines. ;D

This photo describes him really well. [IMG]

Happy handler and totally blissed out Clumber. :* He has always got time for a cuddle.

I believe they're all working dogs, they've had success at the working tests of the clumber club. Apparently some uber glamorous Swede with a low COI came over and so puppies are imminent!

    Love the cuddles pic :)

Should've said success at the working tests of the Clumber Club too as I believe they go shooting as well as the Cockers that they have.

I met the first Clumber when I moved to Exmoor. They are very rare - just 151 new pups KC registered in the UK last year. They are an absolutely delightful breed. The Working Clumber Spaniel Society is holding their AGM at Clumber Park (that's where the breed gets its name from) weekend after next. It should be a good turn out and most people will bring their dogs along. I am very much looking forward to it. :) Also there is an interesting article in the Shooting Times this week about the working Clumber.

Lovely picture Heidrun. We have 2 Clumbers in our village, but I recall the owner calling them French Clumbers, would that be correct? Helen :D
