Mella is now 5½ months and currently still on three meals a day. When could/should one go over to two, larger meals a day?

I changed my Labs to two meals a day round about 6 months old. My German Pointers gave up the midday meals on their own, just turned their noses up! I did give more food in the morning and evening to make up for the lost midday meal.

Pongo has been on two meals a day since 10 weeks of age. (He is 23 weeks now.)

One meal at about 8am, the other at about 7pm. During the day he has a few treats for training, and sometimes a lamb bone or similar at lunchtime, but not a regular meal.

Meals are always kibble soaked in hot water and then left to cool for 15 minutes (so they are nice and mushy), sometimes with some stock or meat added as a treat.

I think Penny was about six months or so when I changed her. I gradually reduced the size of her lunch time meal rather than cut it out suddenly.

Harley is 9 months and still on 3 meals a day. I am slowly cutting down on lunch, but every time I up breakfast or tea she gets a bit of a dippy tummy. Personally it doesn't bother me her having 3 meals.....during the week lunch is usually in kongs, weekends it is usually made up of a bone/rice bone/toast etc

Six months is usual. You can do it earlier if the larger meals don't upset his tum :)

I think we were a little earlier, but not much.
Lilly is on small quantities of food though, relatively speaking - 100-120g twice a day.
I think if she was on a bulkier food I might have hesitated.
